Pre-Kindergarten

Kids are born ready to learn.

If you have a child between ages 3 and 5, this page is about getting them ready for kindergarten. Pre-K teaches kids how to share. How to listen. How to hold a pencil. How to sound out a word. How to make friends with kids who are not their cousins.

Most kids who go to pre-K do better in kindergarten than kids who don’t. They keep doing better in first grade, and second grade, and on. The earlier the help, the bigger the difference.

If you live in Warren County, there are good pre-K programs near you. Some are free. Some have a low cost based on what you can pay. Some are run by the public schools, some by churches and nonprofits, some by Western Kentucky University.

Most of these programs have applications and waitlists. Apply early. Apply to more than one. The people who answer the phone can tell you what your family qualifies for.

This list is not every pre-K program in Warren County. It is the places we know about. If you know a place we missed, tell us and we will add it.
