After School

The bell rings at three. What happens next matters.

If you have to work, your kid needs somewhere safe to be. If your kid needs help with homework, they shouldn’t have to wait until you get home tired. If your kid is full of energy at the end of a school day, they need somewhere to use it.

This page is about the hours between the end of school and bedtime. The hours that don’t get talked about much, but that quietly shape how kids do.

Some of these programs are free. Some have a small fee with scholarships available. All of them are real places with real adults who want to help your kid grow up well.

Most of these programs have applications and waitlists. Apply early. The people who answer the phone can tell you what your family qualifies for.

Hours, fees, and openings change. Always call before you enroll, and ask what your family will need to bring.

This list is not every after-school program in Warren County. It is the places we know about. If you know a place we missed, tell us and we will add it.

Family Resource and Youth Services Centers

Every public school in Kentucky has a Family Resource Center (for elementary) or Youth Services Center (for middle and high school). They help with school supplies, clothing, food, mental health referrals, and connecting you to other community resources. Ask at your child’s school office or look up your school’s coordinator online.

Not sure which district your kid is in? Bowling Green Independent Schools serves the city. Warren County Public Schools serves the rest of the county. Every school in both districts has one of these centers.
