The Warren County Public Library is one of the strongest public library systems in Kentucky. A card is free. Most of what they offer is free too, and a lot of it has nothing to do with books.
You can get a card that lets you check out physical books and equipment, or a digital-only card that never requires you to leave your house. Warren County residents qualify for a free card.
There are eight physical locations across the county. If you can’t get to one, the library will bring materials to you.
If you need help with documents
Free notary service. You do not need to pay to have a document notarized. The library does it at all eight branches. Bring valid photo ID, and the person signing must be present. Call your nearest branch to confirm when a notary is available. See notary hours and locations →
Passport services. The library can help you apply for a U.S. passport. Call ahead to check hours and required documents.

- Fax service, free, at the Lisa Rice Library, Bob Kirby Branch, Smiths Grove Branch, and the Hotel INC Satellite location.
If your kid is in school
- Free homework help, tutoring resources, and a quiet place to study.
- Free research databases for school papers and projects.
- Free college prep databases — ACT and SAT practice, college search, scholarship search.
- Summer reading programs for kids.
If you need something for your home or family
- Free ebooks and audiobooks on your phone or tablet through Libby.
- Free movies, TV, and documentaries through Kanopy and Hoopla.
- Consumer Reports online, free. Useful before you buy a car, appliance, or anything expensive.
- A seed library. Actual seeds you can take home and plant.

If you want to make something
The library has a maker space with tools most people can’t afford to own. All of it is free with a library card.
- 3D printing.
- A kiln for firing pottery.
- Embroidery machines and supplies.
- A CNC router for cutting wood and other materials.
Get the app
The library app lets you search the catalog, place holds, view your account, and check out ebooks and audiobooks. It also scans book barcodes so you can see if the library owns a book you find at a store.
